While there won't be a '50 Shades of Grey' panel at Comic-Con 2014, that's not keeping Universal from getting in on the festivities -- and getting it on with the first official trailer for their upcoming adaptation of the first novel in the steamy trilogy by E.L. James. Get your whips and handcuffs ready, because Mr. Grey is ready to see you now.

The first official trailer for '50 Shades of Grey' is now online after being teased by Beyonce (of all people) earlier this week. The film stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, a college student whose life is forever changed when she falls (literally, because she's clumsy, as all heroines of romance apparently are these days) for the enigmatic billionaire businessman Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan.

Based on the first novel in the bestselling trilogy by E.L. James (which was originally written as 'Twilight' fan fiction), '50 Shades of Grey' likely will not be nearly as provocative as the book version, which is kind of too bad because there is some seriously wacky stuff in there that deserves to be adapted on the big screen if they're going to do this thing at all. Instead, the film will be more of a melodramatic love story, so basically E.L. James has gotten her wish and inspired a new 'Twilight' movie, minus all the interesting parts like werewolves falling in love with supernatural babies.

The film also stars Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, Marcia Gay Harden, and Rita Ora, and hits theaters on February 13, 2015 -- how romantic.
