Max is a great, laid-back pug. He came from the Buffalo Animal Shelter. I don't know who could give him up!

Simba will be two in November. I got Simba after I had lost my beloved Gray Sea. I felt it was absolutely necessary to get another dog almost immediately after we lost her because my male (Moofasa) was so depressed. He has made Moofasa happy for sure!! And I love him with all my heart. He is a little rough, but he is my baby!! He was born on the day Gray Sea passed away! I felt it was a sign! The fact that he was born that day!! He is very special to me in many many ways!!

Edie was a puppy mill rescue who we adopted from Heart of Niagara on July 2, 2013. She is a 3-year-old Pomeranian and an absolute joy! Her hobbies include long walks, furry squeaky toys, snuggling and chasing every leaf that blows past her. She loves the neighborhood kids and is sad when they are not outside to pet her. She is loving her new life just as much as we are loving ours with her!

My dog is a Bull Mastiff. I have had him for three years. He is the most gentile and protective dog I have had. He is like a big baby -- sits on my lap, lays in bed with me and is just like part of the family. We love him very much. As far as his favorite treat, he eats anything.

Our dog was rescued from a home that didn't take very good care of dogs, because she is a Pitt Bull Terrier. These poor dogs have got a bad name due to those people out there that have made it. Our dog Nova just proves them wrong -- those people that are afraid of the Pitt Bull dog. She is so loving and just wants to please us, her family. She loves her family so much and her Aunt Kola, my mother's dog. She is very smart and loves her treats. She loves all treats that she is given. Her favorite toys are her pink kitty and her hedgehog. Nova is the best thing that has happened to our family, and we couldn't ask for a better dog.

Teddy Ruxbin Roosevelt (Submitted by Julie Fanutti)

Teddy Ruxbin Roosevelt is about 3 years old and is a new addition to our family. We adopted him from the Niagara County SPCA around Valentine's Day. He came from a puppy mill. Ted was one of the older dogs from the puppy mill, so we were concerned he may not be a good choice for our family due to learned behaviors. He ended up being perfect! He is loving and patient. My kids named him Teddy because he looks like a teddy bear. My son gave him the last name Roosevelt because he feels the dog has an exuberant personality, just like Teddy Roosevelt.

Molly is a very sweet and loving female dog. She is a Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier mix that is called a Morky. She just loves snuggling, or just leaning will suit her. Sleeping starts in her crate next to the bed, then by somewhere in the night she wants out and up to finish the night hogging the covers next to me.

Mr. B is my best friend. He shows love, and unlike a lot of humans, he loves kids and loves going for rides in his 1994 mustang convertible.

My name is Diego, and I just turned 4 years old! I am a Yorkshire Terrier. I love summertime and going to the park with my mom and dad. They put me in this big plastic bowl (but they call it a swing), and they push me very high. I love it; it’s my favorite thing in the whole wide world! My parents tell me every day that I'm such a good boy!! I hope I win the Dog Days Of Summer contest so that I can enjoy a relaxing retreat after a long tough day of swinging!
