It's been nearly four years since  Jennifer Hudson's family members were murdered, and today a Chicago judge ruled that the arrest of William Balfour was legal.

Judge Charles Burns ruled that the arrest of Balfour was valid, even though police busted into his apartment without a warrant. The prosecution argued that police were simply acting on information they received from Jennifer's sister stating that Balfour had threatened to murder her on numerous occasions.

Jury selection for William Balfour's murder trial will begin on April 9th.
