I don't take a lot of vacations. Part of that is the fear [you may have it too] that I'll come back to work, only to discover that it had become a cupcake bakery while I was off [not that there's anything wrong with cupcake bakeries; baking is just not in my skill set]. My other fear, one I don't think I share with anyone else, is that I'm always afraid that I've made the wrong vacation choice. I mean, this time around I picked a week at Veranda Beach [its motto: "All The Comforts Of Home-Because That's Where You Are!"]. Affordable, of course. Only my favorite brands in the fridge. And I got to work the entire week on my gangnam style [mastering the "invisible horse" isn't as easy as it looks].Then I get back here, and what do I see? An e-mail from our digital managing editor Angela Stefano, making it very clear where she thought I should go; Hamburg, Germany, to see its biggest little tourist attraction, Miniatur Wunderland!

I don't know. It all looks fascinating. But I keep waiting for a miniature snowstorm. And I just know their miniature snow-clearing crew isn't as good as the one at Miniature Buffalo-Niagara International Airport. Besides, none of the tiny people in the display are doing the "invisible horse" dance...
