I love Adam Levine and Maroon 5, but I have to say I was a little worried. A musician trying to act can be a train-wreck, but I was actually pretty impressed. Other than the obvious reading of the teleprompter through most of the skits, I think the show was good. The opening monologue set the tone by having  Andy Samberg, Cameron Diaz and Jerry Seinfeld petitioned Adam to join their team for mentoring, ala Adam's role on "The Voice.

My favorite digital short was Adam Levine and Lonely Island's duet- "YOLO (You Only Live Once)." HILARIOUS!!

The best skit of the night was set in a bar. What would happen if you got Maroon 5, Train, Jason Mraz, and John Mayer in one room to rumble? I would love to show you, but I can't find it anywhere at the moment.  I'll update this if I do.

There was also another short that made fun of "The Carrie Diaries" on the CW.  I've been watching the show and loving the horrible 80's clothes and hair. SNL took it and said, what if they applied it to "The Sopranos." In "Sopranos High" we see Tony and his gang go through the perils of being a normal high school teenager in the 1980s.

Adam is back on SNL with Maroon 5 this weekend (2/2/13) as the musical guest and Jeremy Renner is the host. Next weekend it's Justin Beiber hosting and performing (2/9/13)
