Adele will be rubbing elbows with A-list celebs once again next month, as she has just been confirmed to perform ‘Skyfall’ at the the 85th Academy Awards.

The 24-year-old has been nominated for Best Original Song for her James Bond theme, which bears the same name as its 2012 movie. The appearance will mark the singer’s first live performance of the song, as well as her first live performance in a year. She last took the stage at the 2012 Brit Awards one year ago.

The announcement was made on Wednesday morning (Jan. 23), and confirmed by a tweet from The Academy, which said, “Best 4 Words Ever: Adele Performing At #Oscars.” This is also the first time the singer has performed live since the birth of her son, whose name she may have recently revealed by wearing a necklace bearing the name “Angelo.”

‘Skyfall’ was written by Adele and her longtime collaborator Paul Epworth, who also produced her Grammy-winning album ’21.’ The songwriting duo is up against J. Ralph for his song ‘Before My Time’ from ‘Chasing Ice’; Seth Macfarlane and Walter Murphy for their ‘Ted’ track ‘Everybody Needs a Best Friend’; ‘Pi’s Lullaby’ from ‘Life of Pi’; and ‘Suddenly’ from ‘Les Misérables.’

Earlier this month, Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ won Best Original Song at the 2013 Golden Globes, beating out the likes of Taylor Swift, Jon Bon Jovi and Keith Urban. The Oscars will air on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 8PM on ABC.
