450 JP Morgan employees are going to lose their jobs.

JP Morgan will shut down its call center in Albion, eliminating all those positions.

The decision was made because fewer homeowners are falling behind on their mortgages, so Chase needs fewer workers to handle the cases.

Employees at the call center say that they were informed of the layoffs around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The employees have 90 days until they will lose their jobs.

The center once employed close to 1,000 people, but now the workforce has been reduced to just over 400.
