Before She Was A Star: Kelly Ripa (VIDEO)
Most people know Kelly Ripa as the long-time host of Live With Kelly [formerly Live With Regis And Kelly]. Fans of the now-gone soap opera All My Children remember her years there, starting in 1990. But like most big names, she started a few years before stardom struck.
There must be something about Philadelphia. Dick Clark started American Bandstand there. Dave Thomas had a second run as a local TV star after leaving Buffalo and the original Rocketship 7 for Philly. And, in the 1980's, there was a show called Dancing On Air, and its nationally-syndicated edition, Dance Party USA. One of its featured dancers was a very young Ripa.
