In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, people are taking extra precautions whenever something seems out of the ordinary.

Authorities are warning Canisius College students and nearby residents to be wary of "bottle bombs" after one was discovered near the campus. Even though nobody was seriously injured by the explosives, Canisius College wants its students to be on the lookout.

The bottle bomb was found off-campus on Meech Street, about a block away.

"Bottle bombs" are made with combustible elements mixed with a liquid, which creates a chemical reaction that causes them to explode.

Those who live in the area are asked to be aware of any suspicious items found on the street or lawn and to call Public Safety immediately at 888-3197.
