Police engaged in a standoff in Hamburg this morning (February 11) involving a 42-year-old man, according to WIVB.

3:45 P.M. UPDATE: According to WGRZ's Twitter account, the standoff is over, and police have one person in custody.

Standoff continues after 12 hours

ORIGINAL REPORT: The standoff started around midnight when the man's girlfriend reportedly went to police to say the man had access to a gun and was talking about suicide.

The police are in negotiations with the barricaded male near Big Tree Road and Eaglecrest Drive and are requesting unnecessary traffic to avoid the area. They do not believe that anyone else is in the home.
