Blessings surround us throughout the year and throughout our whole lives.

Delilah explains how her family remembers and recognizes their blessings by writing them down and putting them in a jar to read at the end of every year.

My kids and I have committed to writing down our blessings on a piece of paper and stuffing them in a jar whenever we think of it throughout the year. When good things happen, when we see things of beauty, when a prayer is answered...we will jot it down on a small strip of paper and put it in a jar. Pretty simple, right? Come New Year's Eve, what better way to bid farewell to the year than by remembering how blessed we were all throughout it?

You can do it too. It's not too late to start. Find a jar or shoebox; put a notepad and pen next to it. And when your heart is beaming because something good happened to you, write it down so you don't forget. When you accomplish a goal, receive a gift or a compliment, when you make a memory, when you laugh so hard you cry...those are also things worth cherishing and re-living at the year's end. I can't think of a better way to start and end this wonderful year-to-come.

Remember to slow down and love someone.
