This will not bode well with most...especially when some of the Buffalo schools are coming under fire for grossly under performing...

We all know kids are having a VERY hard time with cursive. Many curricula don't even include it anymore. But basic grammar? THIS drives me INSANE.

A British professor said in a recent interview that teaching kids spelling and grammar in primary school is "a bit unnecessary" because they're both skills that AutoCorrect on your phone will take care of from here on out.

His point was that kids have constant access to that technology, and that's how it's going to be going forward. So we should look at "different teaching methods" and better subject matter.

Obviously lots of teachers and parents are disagreeing with the idea.

Thoughts?
