Carrie Underwood Blown Away By Tour Success

Carrie Underwood is on the road, bringing her Blown Away tour to more than 50 cities across North America by the end of 2012. But in spite of her superstar status, which includes performing to a sold-out crowd at London’s famed Albert Hall this past June, Carrie is still amazed by her own success.

Carrie tells Nashville’s “Tennessean”, “It still amazes me that people spend their hard-earned money to come and hear me sing, and that’s a cool feeling.” ”But there is always the worry and the disbelief that people aren’t going to come.”

Underwood’s last two tours, 2008′s Carnival Ride and the 2010 Play On trek played for over two million fans, but that success isn’t enough for Carrie to rest on her laurels. “I’m a competitive person, so I want it to be bigger and better,” the songstress explains. “We’ll take elements that really worked in the last show and build those up. Way back when I was going to concerts, I would have to sit in the back, so I want to give them something really special, too. We have a way to get back there this time.”

Carrie arranges her entire concert into acts, based on which songs work well together. But some elements, including her wardrobe, will be a surprise to everyone. “I don’t want to wear the same clothes every day,” Carrie insists, adding that she has three wardrobe possibilities for each act. “I would get bored with that, and I think other people might, too. We try to keep it interesting all the way through the tour.”

Carrie will take time off from her Blown Away tour on Nov. 1, when she and Brad Paisley will share the M. C. chair at the 46th annual Country Music Awards.

Alas, sweet Carrie will only be coming as close as Toronto, when she blows away the Air Canada Center on December 9th.
