Republican Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana has got to be out of touch with his constituents, unless everyone in his district earns more than half-a-million-bucks a year!

Fleming appeared on MSNBC  this week discussing President Obama's deficit reduction plan which would increase taxes on the wealthiest Americans.  Fleming told the network he can't afford a tax hike.  Are you kidding me?

The MSNBC anchor pushed Fleming on the issue, noting he earned more than 6-million-dollars last year in his personal business ventures.  Fleming explained by the time he pays employees, other business expenses and taxes - he's left with about $600,000.  Fleming went on to say, “by the time I feed my family, I have maybe $400,000 left over to invest in new locations."

First of all, $200,000 to feed your family?  How many kids do you have?  I could feed an entire football team for a year on that money, and still have some left over.

Left with only $400,000?  I'm supposed to feel sorry for you?  The anchor noted how many Americans are earning maybe $40,000 or $50,000 a year.  It didn't even seem to bother him.

This guy is selfish and thoughtless.  He's obviously not representing the people of his district, only himself.

How can we elect such lawmakers who are out of touch with reality?  Do you think he's one of a kind, or is politics full of guys like him?
