A new survey is out that says 2/3 of parents use the "time-out" method for disciplining their toddlers.

According to the research, the most common reason for parents choosing to use a time-out spot was that they had "seen the method on television."

I can remember when my kids were toddlers and Super Nanny was on TV.  I suppose that might have have some influence in using time-outs with my kids.

Time-outs weren't around when we were kids, so i guess with not knowing what it feels like to be put in time-out, its hard to gauge what goes through toddlers minds.

It's been affective and works better than yelling at the kids, which I leaned early on just becomes wallpaper to them.

Did you use "time-outs'?  How did that work out for you?
