Miley (Submitted by Jennifer Sazyniak)

Miley is a 3-5-year-old Pug!! We are unsure of her age because we adopted her this past April from Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue. Let me tell you, it has been the BEST decision we have ever made!! Last June 2012, we had to put Maddy to sleep -- she was our 10-year-old pug. It was terrible, and I swore off another dog because I didn't want to deal with that again. We had been looking at the website for the rescue just for fun when we spotted Miley!! We drove to Rochester to meet her, and it was love at first sight!! We knew we had to have her. So after the application and home inspection process, we were informed that we had been selected.  So now, we have had her for just over three months, and let me know tell you, there isn't a day that goes by that we don't laugh multiple times a day at something she does. Whether it's the noises she makes, the way she cocks her head or the silly way she walks, she melts my heart. She loves going for walks and rides in the car. Her favorite treat is green beans, and she sleeps in between my fiancé and me with her head on the pillow and her body under the covers like a human. She does this weird thing when she pees. She lifts her back leg up and balances on one, then kicks the grass in the air but pauses about three seconds with each leg out straight, so I call her a ballerina. She also "screams" -- she gets real excited when another dog walks by the house, so she will bark and then it turns into a screeching scream!! We have recorded it, and when we play it for people, they die laughing!

Harley (Submitted by Dina Braun)

Harley is a 4-year-old Pug. He is very sweet and lovable. His favorite toy is his rope, but it doesn't take long before he tears it apart. His favorite treats are carrots. If you want someone to snuggle with, he is the one! He loves to lay right on top of you (and I mean right on top -- the closer he is the better). We love him lots!!!!

Tori (Submitted by Jennifer Domroes)

Tori is a white Boxer who just turned one on June 16. We will have had her a year on August 3. She is a sick puppy since we got her and most recently found out she has one kidney, and the one that she has is not functioning properly. Our days are numbered, and I count each day a blessing with her!! She was meant to be with our family, and we will continue to love her and care for her until we can no longer.

RJ (Submitted by Johanne Bartiz)

RJ is the most adorable, cute and loyal 8-year-old Shih Tzu I've seen. He loves to play with squeaky toys; his favorites are a squirrel and squeaky balls. He loves to chew his peanut butter bone and loves soft doggy cookies. He will do anything we ask him for a cookie; he will roll over, lay down, bark, paw, beg and stand up for a cookie. He is very protective not only with the kids and me but with our lionhead bunny Fluffy. When they are outside, he watches over Fluffly so that he doesn't go away, and if he sees the bunny out of the area, he will start pushing him with his head to move him back. At night, RJ loves to cuddle with everyone for a bit before we go to bed, then he finally sleeps under my bed or goes to his bed. He is our baby and a great dog! I could not ask for more; we love him so much.

Duke is a 10-year-old Black Lab. He loves his biscuits and loves to take over my bed. He is the best dog I ever had and keeps me going constantly.

Dexter (Submitted by Frank Neuland)

Dexter is four but looks like an old man! He is a Snoodle -- half Poodle and half Miniature Schnauzer. He has a toy box full of toys and loves to play tug-of-war!

Franklin Delanore (Submitted by Jessica Smith)

Frankie is a purebred Chihuahua. He is 6 years old. He loves running free around the schoolyard track. Frankie dislikes baths very much! When he hears the word "bath", he runs away instantly. He is very smart, and one of the sweetest Chihuahuas you will ever meet. But don't let him fool you; he thinks he is much bigger than he really is! When he sees a bigger dog walking down the street, he barks like he's the alpha dog!!

Simba (Submitted by Richard Mietus)

He is a pound pooch, though he has been with our family for a few years. I call him Weezer because he gets crabby. His song goes: “Weezer is a gnarly one, a Crab A.” He only wants to be your friend if you rub his belly. He is an 11-year-old self-proclaimed royal. Garbage is his favorite treat, so is wood, mud and, HIS FAVORITE, napkins.

Betis is a 7-year-old Yorkie mix that will follow me everywhere. He loves any kind of food or treat.

Remi (Submitted by Jenna Bissonette)

Our adorable 2-year-old French Bulldog Remi has been cooling off this summer is his inflatable pool. He is never found without his "woobie" (Kong brand tennis ball), and his favorite activity is helping to look after his new 2-month-old human baby brother Bodie.
