Bentley and I were acquainted in November 2008. Not intending to buy a dog, I was looking at various puppies while on my lunch break. They say when you know, you know -- well, I didn't know at the time, but I couldn't live without him. Nor did I even ever consider a dog before him. It was just a lunch break and killing time, yet two days later, he was mine. I had to have him and now cannot live without him. Since then Bentley and I have moved from Miami, only to relocate back here of my hometown Buffalo. The past five years have flew by, and he has been my homeboy and best friend ever since. My wingman, per say, and yes, it does work. Bentley enjoys anything we do together; he has been trained well and still enjoys fun in the sun since our days in Florida. Our weekends are filled with athletics and often times lounging around the yard while doing landscaping and housework. He is on a grain-free diet and is often mistaken for a Boxer or even young Pit Bull. He is a Boston Terrier -- yes, a Boston. Bentley enjoys his toys, which usually consist of rawhide (any meat flavor), raw chicken necks, ropes and, most importantly, any Nylabone product. He also enjoys baths, the couch (grrr) and being the center of attention whenever company is at the house. We live by the motto that anyone can afford a car, but not everyone can afford a Bentley. He was born August 9, 2008.

We rescued him two weeks ago. He was abandoned without food or water. After a small stay at SPCA and no inquiries, we took him ASAP. Kingston is around 10 weeks now, believed to be a Collie Mix and loves to play. His favorite toy is anything that tastes like toes or moves like toes. Yes, I have bite marks to prove this fact. We love him.

She is a 3-year-old Boxer/Mastiff/Dane mix from a high-kill shelter in Ohio. She likes to ride around the city of Niagara Falls with her goggles on and 96.1 playing on the radio. Her favorite trick is when I say, “Bang, you’re dead.” She will drop onto her side and stay there 'till I say, “You’re alive,” when she will then jump to her feet.

Snoopy is an elderly Beagle (approximately 14 years old). He was adopted from the SPCA four years ago. He came to WNY from Ohio through a rescue program. Snoopy is deaf, so he has learned to respond to hand gestures. He enjoys spending time with our five children and two cats (he gives the cats kisses). When company arrives, he happily greets our guests and seeks to entertain them. Snoop brings so much love and happiness to those around him.

CoCo will be 4 years old in October. She was auctioned at a fundraiser event for a young boy who had cancer to help with his medical expenses. CoCo was in a pink purse and was about 9 weeks old. My daughter gave me the look, and I had to bid for a good cause and a win. Her nickname is $850. She is a certified pedigree and is a Chocolate Lab. She is full of energy. My 77-pound hunk of love. She loves playing with all her toys and enjoys her kiddie pool in the summer.

Obie is a 6-year-old Goldendoodle. She has endless amounts of energy. In the summer, she practically lives in the pool and loves the attention she gets while chewing tennis balls on her raft! When the ball floats away, just out of paw's reach, she waits for the cue: "Jump, Obie, jump!" She can entertain herself for hours with just a ball and a raft.

Caesar is a very lovable and friendly 1-year-old Olde English Bulldog. He loves to hang out by the pool, but he would sink instead of swim in the water!

Ebony was born on Christmas. My husband bought her for me on Valentine's Day 2011. She believes she is a cat; as you see here, she is sitting on the windowsill. She walks along back of furniture without touching the floor — she covers the entire room. She is extremely lovable and completes our home. We have the empty nest syndrome since all our children are gone. She certainly helps me want to rush home!

On April 14, 2013, our 13-year-old Beagle died at home in my wife's arms. Bina succumbed to congestive heart failure. The hole that she left in our home and in our hearts was immeasurable. After about two weeks, my 26-year-old daughter said that life without Bina was unbearable. After searching all of New York State for a Beagle, I was able to locate a breeder out of Pennsylvania. He informed me that he had been breading Beagles for 60 years. He then stated that he had a litter born just two weeks earlier, on April 14, 2013. These puppies were born on the day Bina died. Since there were two females left, we took them both. We know that Bina sent them to us because it would take at least two dogs to fill the hole that Bina left. They are the cutest, most spirited dogs that I have ever seen. They are totally inseparable and full of surprises. Every day is a new adventure, whether it’s running up the stairs while they are wrestling together or knocking over their dishes; these dogs are great. When they play, you would think it’s a dogfight. But at the end of the night, they snuggle close together. When they look at us, they reassure us that Bina led a good life and was very loved, because they feel the love that Bina had.

Thunder is our 1.5-year-old purebred Boxer pup that always has to be the center of attention in our house, as he always has to hit you with his paws or lays his head on our laps to get our attention. He loves to be chased through the yard and play hide and seek. He also loves to play fetch, though he seems to keep the ball or toy in his mouth until we chase him! His favorite toy is a froggy plush from the day we got him. He is a well-behaved pup and lovable companion. He is great with our 10-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son. We are happy to have him in our lives.
