Choco-Logo’s Annual Event to Benefit South Buffalo Youth Program
Buffalo, NY - Want to see how chocolate is made, or try your hand at making your own chocolate bunny? The sixth annual BunnyFest at Choco-Logo Confectionery Design on Saturday, April 12, is a great day for chocolate lovers of all ages. It will be held at Choco-Logo’s Factory Shop, 141 Broadway between Elm St and Michigan Ave in downtown Buffalo.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Seneca Street Community Development Corporation, a not-for-profit organization in the Seneca-Babcock neighborhood in South Buffalo.
Tickets are $8 per child, $15 for two children, or $35 for a family of five: adults are free with paid children’s tickets.
During BunnyFest, attendees will see how Cornflake Nests are made from chocolate and other yummy ingredients. Kids can have their face painted like a bunny, and see how chocolate is made, and then mold a bunny from chocolate, too. The Easter Bunny will be there for photos (bring your camera). Paid registration is required.
At BunnyFest, no one is too old to celebrate spring and chocolate. “BunnyFest brings out the kid in all of us,” says chocolatier and Choco-Logo owner Dan Johnson. “We love to teach kids about chocolate and to help support a community organization. Since 2009, BunnyFest proceeds have benefited three different charities in the community and that makes us very happy.”
Ticket sales benefit Seneca Street Community Development Corporation, offers free educational and social enrichment programs for youth. Cheryl Bird, chair of the organization says, “The reality of serving 50 kids a day with meaningful mentoring and educational programming is expensive. Events like this help us maintain an active program, plus provide a healthy snack and dinner to children and teens in this underserved neighborhood at no charge. Our programs fill a need for mentors and positive role models while supporting the emotional, physical, and academic well-being of the youth we serve. We’re grateful to Choco-Logo for supporting our efforts and helping to bring awareness to our work.”
