Band Together Holstrom Benefit

Nicholas Holstrom (24 years old) has been diagnosed with Plasma Cell Leukemia
This diagnosis was devastating news for Nick and his family. He and his wife, Jennifer have two small children, Finnigan (3 years old) and Murphy (8 months old). Nick was diagnosed only 4 weeks after the birth of his daughter. Since then Nick and Jennifer have been unable to work. Nick has become debilitated from the disease and Jennifer is at home caring for Nick and their children. The emotional strain and financial worries have been very difficult on the whole family.
Plasma Cell Leukemia is a rare cancer involving a subtype of white blood cells called plasma cells. There have only been 280 cases in the past 20 years. This is also an aggressive cancer with a poor prognosis. He has gone through several different courses of treatment, all of which have been unsuccessful. He is currently undergoing very aggressive chemotherapy treatment in which he has to stay in the hospital for several days at a time. When he is not admitted in the hospital he has to return to Roswell almost every day for testing and checkups.
In looking forward, Nick will have a Stem Cell Transplant as soon as possible. They have found a donor, and as soon as Nick is in remission they will start the transplant process. This is a difficult and risky procedure but this is the only option for Nick.
Nick’s family and friends are planning a concert benefit event on June 22nd, 2013 at the Brounshildle Post, 3354 Delaware Ave, Kenmore, NY 14217 from 6-10pm, to help cover the cost of medical bills and everyday expenses.
