Monday morning, Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts announced that she has been diagnosed with MDS or myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare blood disorder.

Myelodysplastic syndrome is a disease of the blood and bone marrow, and was once known as preleukemia. Robin also revealed that her sister will be her donor for a bone marrow transplant later this year.
