The House Armed Services Committee passed an amendment Thursday which would restore funding for the Air National Guard.

According to Congresswoman Kathy Hochul's office,

"the amendment broadens the prohibition on retiring aircraft to include any Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve aircraft, including C-130s, and restores all 5,100 Air National Guard positions."

The 107th Airlift Wing at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station was in jeopardy of losing it's mission, but this amendement could save some jobs in the unit.

Congresswoman Hochul went on to say, "Today's amendment is a positive step toward ensuring the strong viability of the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. While this is an ongoing process, the bill passed tonight is a significant victory in our effort to protect both the planes and personnel of the 107th Airlift Wing."
