I'm one of the lucky ones. As I celebrate Mother's Day this Sunday, I have the piece of mind to know my children are healthy, happy, safe and sound. My mother is also still a major part of our lives. I would consider this part of my life "the best of times."

Truly, it doesn't get much better than this. From the time I was a little girl, my mom has always been there for me. I could tell her anything, and she would never judge me. I still can. She's always been there to help out. When I was little, she pitched in on school projects. As an adult, she helps me care for my family. My mother is always only a phone call away. The kind of mom that will drop everything if I need her, no matter how large or small the request may be. She's everything you would ever want in a mom.

As we celebrate this Mother's Day, I take warmth in knowing how special my own mom is and how fortunate I am to have her still with me and my children. My heart goes out to those who have lost their mom, or a child. Recently, I've come to the conclusion that we need to enjoy our lives, the moments we are in. Things can change so quickly. In short, it doesn't really matter to me how I celebrate Mother's Day. All that really matters is that I enjoy the day with my Mom and Dad, husband and children.  Life is short, you never know what's just around the corner.  Plan for your future, but live for today.
