See that kid on the left? Yep, that's me...age 2.

The handsome fella on my right is my big brother, Rich.

When I was a kid, it was a total treat to sleep over at Grandma's house...obviously we got to eat all the forbidden foods my parents wouldn't let us have, and play games, and make a total mess and not get yelled at for it. But the real treat came after bathtime.

We'd each head to our respective beds, and Grandma would read us stories...usually "Uncle Wiggly", but when we were REAL little, it was the "Mr. Men" books, the Golden Books, "Frog and Toad"...and one of my favorites, the Berenstain Bears.

It wasn't just that she read to us....but as she read, she would rub our backs. She had (still has!) the most beautifully manicured fingernails...and she would trace little pictures on our little backs. Just thinking of it still gives me those good goosebumps.

I ended up being a really great reader in school. I won all those "most books read" awards, and when it was book-buying time, the Bears were almost always in rotation. I wish I could say I still read as much now...but those memories will live forever.

What I wouldn't have given to see those books come to life.

And now, your child has that chance. Saturday is the big day...and there are three different showtimes to fit your busy family schedule.

I'll be opening the 12:30 p.m. show...but there are still great seats available for all three! We hope to see you!!!
