April and May were Western New York's wettest of all time.  That's right, Buffalo's in the record books.  But we are not alone.  According to Cornell University's Northeast regional Climate Center, eight other cities in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic share this dubious distinction with the Buffalo area.  More than a foot of rain fell during these two months in Binghamton, Ithaca, Huntington, W.Va, Burlington, Vt., Williamsport, Pa., Erie, Pa. and Harrisburg, Pa.  The other record city in April through May was Rochester which has just less than 11 inches of rain.

In the same period, Washington, Boston and a few other cities in the region were experiencing a dry spell.

Just think,  if all that precipitation fell a few months earlier how much snow we'd have to shovel!
