If you're missing 'Harry Potter' and are desperately in need of a good Potter fix, then J.K. Rowling has some good news for you. In a recent interview with BBC News, she admitted that she'd written many of the 'Potter' novels on the run and is sorely tempted to expand upon the universe by writing a "director's cut." While that's not a direct "yes, I am writing a new Potter book," it's still a good sign for the legions of her devoted fans who miss Harry and his adventures at Hogwarts.

Meanwhile, Rowling's new adult fiction novel, 'The Casual Vacancy,' hits shelves today. She describes her new work as a "contemporary version of 19th Century-style novels about a small community" and emphasizes that it's not for kids; however Rowling also mentioned that she will be thinking about writing another children's book in the near future.

While Rowling may be "writing for herself" (as she claims in the interview) now, it's still up in the air as to whether or not her post-Potter writing will ever live up to her debut. With any luck (and a little pressure from her legions of devoted Potter-ites), Rowling may return to the magical world of Hogwarts and elaborate on all the juicy background details that were glossed over in the first seven books. Since she created such a vast world, the sky's the limit on any future Potter-verse stories.
