Lady Gaga takes her anti-bullying efforts to Harvard today for the official launch of the "Born this Way Foundation."

The Born This Way Foundation  is a nonprofit organization named after Gaga's 2011 album. It will address issues such as self-confidence, anti-bullying, and career development through research, education and advocacy.  Here's a quote on the Foundation's mission  from the BTWF website:

"Led by Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta, the Born This Way Foundation was founded in 2011 to foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated. The Foundation is dedicated to creating a safe community that helps connect young people with the skills and opportunities they need to build a braver, kinder world.

We believe that everyone has the right to feel safe, to be empowered and to make a difference in the world. Together, we will move towards acceptance, bravery and love."

Gaga initially announced the foundation after visiting the White House to speak with President Obama about bullying.  Gaga initiated that visit after learning of the suicide of a Williamsville North High School Freshman.  14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer's parents say he took his own life last year after enduring years of bullying at school and online.  Gaga tweeted about Rodemeyer after his death, noting she wanted to talk to the president about bullying and even remembered him during a concert.

Lady Gaga will be joined by Oprah Winfrey, spiritual leader Deepak Chopra and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius for the event. Gaga's mom, Cynthia Germanotta, will also be present for the launch.  You can watch the launch live at the Born this Way Foundation website.
