Are you the kind of person to dwell on the past or fret about future?

Delilah explains how you shouldn't spend so much time worrying about the past and future and only be concerned with the present because it is a "gift".

A lot of people spend too much time in the past because they can’t let go. They can’t forgive themselves or they can’t forgive others. When you finally realize you have to forgive, you find out that it is the key that unlocks the prison doors and you let yourself free of that bitterness. Did you read that right? You are the one who is freed of misery and pain when you finally forgive and let yourself move on and live for today.

Some people don’t worry about the past as much as they worry about what’s to come. Every day they dwell on the future. Those people are going to overlook the good things that are happening right now. You see, that’s why it’s called the ‘present,’ because it is a gift. Today is a gift, be grateful in it! Make plans for the future but don’t fret about it so much that you forget what’s important today.

Keep your head in today. Stop looking back or stop looking ahead with worry. You can’t control it. It’s in the palm of God’s hands, leave it there. And now that you’ve soaked in my little pep talk, I want you to write to me and tell me what you are grateful for today. Sometimes just taking the time to write down a gratitude list can be therapy for a troubled heart. Just a thought.

What are YOU grateful for today? Comment below!
