As great and well-intentioned as the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is, it doesn't truly hammer home the horror of Lou Gehrig's disease.

This man was nominated for the challenge, but elected to skip it to educate people.

His mother died from the disease, so instead of pouring ice over his head, he decided to go on camera and talk about what ALS does to those who have it.

It's a sobering and straightforward look at the disease. So, while the Ice Bucket Challenge  is done for a good cause and we're all getting a lot of laughs out of watching people have water doused over their heads, this man wants to make sure we don't lose sight of the harsh reality that we are trying to fight a cruel disease.
