“Mounted for Meals” at the Broadway Market for the Food Bank of WNY!
Hi, it’s Craig Matthews inviting you to help us help the hungry. It’s time for the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Reserve Unit semi-annual food drive we call, “Mounted for Meals”. It happens this Wednesday at Buffalo’s famous Broadway Market. In addition to my on-air work here on the New 96.1 JOY FM, I am also part of the Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol, serving proudly since 1996.
For nearly 10 years our Unit has collected food and funds for the Food Bank of Western New York. At Christmas-time we hold our food drive at the Southgate Plaza in West Seneca. Then, at Easter, we bring the horses to the Broadway Market, where we’ll be this Wednesday from 10:00am-1:00pm. If you are able, please bring perishable or non-perishable food donations of any kind to put it in the barrels we’ll have set up at the main entrance. Or, feel free to put some “Loot In The Boot” and say hello to the horses (and the Mounted Deputies too).
The Food Bank of Western New York serves the needy in Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus county. Their slogan; “Fighting Hunger One Day At A Time”. To find out more about their efforts, click here.
Help us help them…thank you and a Happy Easter to one and all!
