Fall is still a few months away, but there's no doubt football is in the air. The Bills are at training camp. Little Loop Football players from Pee Wees to Varsity are practicing. Cheerleaders are learning new routines. My son played football a few years back, and my daughter still cheers for the Lancaster Junior Redskins. Their love of the sport has sparked an interest in football movies in my house.

    We Are Marshall

My all time favorite football movie is "We Are Marshall." The movie is based on the tragic true story of the Marshall University football team killed in a plane crash. Sad, but also amazing. You don't have to love football to love this movie.

    The Blind Side

Next up, "The Blind Side." Another true story about a young man who reaches his potential on and off the football field after being taken in by a loving family.

    Remember The Titans

Number three on my list of favorite football movies is "Remember the Titans." The movie led to some great conversations with my kids, not to mention some great dance moves we learned from the scenes where the Titans entered the stadium in later games.

    Radio

In fourth place on my list, "Radio." Another football movie that also tugs at your heart.

    Rudy

Finally, at number five on my list of favorite football movies is "Rudy." The story of a kid who never gave up. I love this story for many reasons, one being more personal and rather selfish. When my son played football, his coach awarded him the "Rudy" Award for character and sportsmanship. Every time I watch the movie, I get a little teary eyed.
