The date was August 1, 1981.  I was 6 going on 7.  My brother and I were at my grandma's house, and we RAN upstairs to her bedroom to watch the MTV flag being planted on the moon, and to see the first video ever, "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles (funny enough, I also started my dream of becoming Martha Quinn that day....)

But do you know the SECOND video to be played?  It was Pat Benatar's "You Better Run"

And the third?  "She Won't Dance with Me" by Rod Stewart (with VERY sophisticated graphics)

The rest of the first 10 videos ever shown is good for a trip down memory lane....Like, remember when the "M" stood for "Music", not "Moms Who Are Still In High School".

Thanks to HuffintonPost.com for putting this list together so we could all celebrate...and pass the glucosamine.
