Vintage 1963 Jimmy Jet vs. Today’s Video Games

My favorite Christmas gift came Christmas morning in 1963 when my Mom and Dad gave me a Jimmy Jet. Don't laugh...Jimmy Jet was the equivalent of a 1960's flight simulator, it was only sold in food stores, yes food stores, on the top shelf no less. The price of a Jimmy Jet in 1963 was $12.99, in 2011 dollars that would equate to about $85.00

What would rival the Jimmy Jet today, may Xbox Ace Combat 6, about $19.99 online, but then you would have to own or purchase an Xbox to play it ($300). I still like the Jimmy Jet better, it was real, not a video simulation, you could pull handles, turn knobs, you felt like you were flying...here is the original Jimmy Jet commercial
