The brand new West Buffalo Charter School opens its doors to 162 students for the very first time today.

Principal Andrea Todoro said, “I can't wait to meet the students and see all of their families. It’s a group effort. We have a large group of family members and extended family members that are all pitching in and putting in effort making sure the building is ready.”

The focus of the new charter school is literacy,making sure students, from kindergarten to second grade, have reading skills are at or above their grade level.

School for most kids in Western New York starts around September 4th.
