What do you think of when Walmart comes to mind?  Low prices?  Cheap stuff?  Deep discounts?  Me too, but that all changed recently when I happened upon what I'll call "The White House of Walmarts."

I dropped my daughter at Lacrosse practice out in Hamburg the other night and decided to run to the store.  Being from Lancaster, I needed a little help finding the closest Walmart in Hamburg.  I grabbed my iPhone and used my Map App to find the closest one.  The App led me down Route 20 to a Walmart like no other. (At least, not any other I have ever seen.)

I pulled into the parking lot of the Hamburg Walmart thinking it was one of several stores in the plaza.  Then I realized it was all Walmart.  There were huge white columns that looked like the White House at each of the entrances to the store.  Each doorway had decorative windows above  it with black trim and was labeled appropriately with "Market and Pharmacy", "Home and Living" or "Outdoor Living."  The grand entrances were spread across the lot with brick in between.  All I could think of is, "so THIS is Walmart?"

Inside, I found a "Super Walmart."  Great looking produce, tasty baked goods (bought the chocolate chip cookies, mmmmm!) and ready-made foods like pizzas.  Now, I know they have all this at the Walmart on Transit, near my house.  It just looked so much more amazing here for some reason.  Then I made my way over to the shampoos, make up and such - and realized, yep this is Walmart.

I was in a time crunch and never got to the other side of the store to see if it was any different than the Walmart near me.  I left though, with what I will call "Walmart Envy."  I guess not all Walmarts are created equal.
