Daredevil Nik Wallenda will wear a tether as he crosses a high wire over Niagara Falls next month.  He's not happy about it though.

Major sponsors and ABC-TV, which will be televising the event, have threatened to drop out if Wallenda does not take safety precautions during his 18-hundred foot wire walk.  The Buffalo News reports Wallenda calls the turn of events "frustrating..."

"I'm upset. I'm not used to it," he said. "I've never worn a tether before so it's just something else I have to contend with when I'm out there."

Sponsors apparently are fearful of the potential for a tragedy during the stunt.  ABC reportedly threatened not to broadcast the stunt live if Wallenda refused a tether.  The high wire walk is scheduled for June 15th.
