Bonnie Franklin, who played an enigmatic single mom trying to find herself in the classic 1970s sitcom 'One Day at a Time,' has passed away due to complications from pancreatic cancer. She was 69 years old.

A theatre veteran, Bonnie is best known for playing Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips' TV mom on CBS from 1975 through 1984. Her role as Ann Romano earned her an Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe noms.

Franklin was married twice -- once to playwright Ronald Sassi (whom she divorced in 1970) and later to film producer Marvin Minoff. She was with Minoff from 1980 until he died in November of 2009.

She is survived by her mother and her two step-children.
