Online Dating Not A Real Romance Aid; New Study [VIDEO]

Do you spend hours searching online dating sites for a potential date or mate? A new study says you might as well try your luck at a bar.

A group of US psychology professors have just released a study noting that nothing is as successful as meeting someone in person. Eli Finkel, an associate psychology professor at Northwestern University, and one of five professors who worked on the report, called online dating the "supermarket of love", helpful to discover some new possible partners, but less than informative when it comes to getting to know them.

Finkel also notes that poring over huge numbers of people at an online site is overwhelming, and may cause people to "shut down" emotionally. He added that research has shown that people confronted with too many choices frequently make bad and lazy choices.
