As I found out this morning, a good deed not only helps someone else out, but puts a smile on your face, too.  I walked in the door of our building this morning and went in the elevator. As I was waiting for the doors to close, two women were walking towards the elevators, carrying boxes, as the doors began to close. I quickly hit the open door button and asked what floor they were going to. They gave me the floor number and were so happy.

They thanked me for holding the door and said something to the effect of "I'm glad there are still SOME nice people". They also said the doorman saw them struggling with the door as they carried the boxes in and did nothing.

I'm glad I could help them and that certainly started my day off with a smile, knowing I made someone's day a little easier.

Pay it forward.  The little things mean a lot.
