Penelope Cruz Gives Birth

Another celebrity blessed event! Spanish film star Penelope Cruz has given birth to a child in Los Angeles. You may recall she  married Oscar candidate Javier Bardem last summer in the Bahamas, the Spanish press reported today.

Sources close to the families of Cruz and Bardem - members of the select group of Hollywood couples who have both won Oscars -- confirmed the birth of Cruz's first child to Spanish newspaper El Pais, but did not say if it was a boy or a girl.

No one at Cruz's public relations agency Kuranda was available to confirm the reports.
