Audio From President Kennedy’s Visit to Buffalo on 10/14/62

On this the anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, I thought rather than dwell on that fateful day in Dallas, it better to remember JFK on one of his rare visits to Buffalo.

October 14, 1962 was the day that President John F. Kennedy would be the most prominent visitor in the city’s annual Pulaski Day Parade.

One of the key events for Buffalo’s Polish-America community, would draw over 200,000 along the parade route to get a glimpse of the President who would conclude his visit with a speech targeted at the communist oppression of Poland.

Kennedy’s motorcade took him down Broadway, to Niagara Square where an additional 100,000 spectators awaited his arrival.
