Today we remember the Americans who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on New York, Washington, and Shanksville, PA. On TV there are many moving tributes planned through out the day that we can watch in the comfort of our homes

But there is a  simple and dignified way to honor America today. Fly the American Flag at your house. It's been a pet peeve of mine for a long time how many people don't do this. As I look up and down my street this morning only a few flags can be seen. Every home should have one.

It's easy to make the effort. Attach a flag to your house, plant small ones in  the yard, drape it on your front porch. A good friend of mine went out of his way this weekend to place a flag at the memorial on French road off the the 990.

You don't have to go that far. Fly the flag at home and honor those you paid the ultimate price in the war on terror.
