I'm sad to report that legendary R&B singer, Etta James, passed away today at the age of 73.

Etta James has been an icon in the Music Industry for over 50 years, and probably most noted for her hit single "At Last." She has been suffering from numerous illnesses including leukemia, Alzheimer's disease, and kidney disease.

Etta James began her singing career in the church choir loft, and recorded her first commercial record in 1955. She was ranked #22 on "Rolling Stone" magazine's 100 Greatest Singers Of All Time list, and has collected six Grammy Awards and seventeen Blues Music Awards. Back in 1993, Etta James was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, in addition to being inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999, and the Blues Hall of Fame in 2001.
