Rooney Mara Stars in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”

It's the countdown to Christmas, and perhaps some movie passes would make a nice stock stuffer...

There a few new movies opening in theatres nationwide today, but the most appealing to me is "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." The film is based on the first book of Steig Larsson's bestselling Millenium series, and stars Golden Globe nominee Rooney Mara.

"The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" revolves around a magazine publisher who is enlisted by a retired CEO to help solve the mystery of his long missing niece. All the while, the magazine publisher's partner in case-cracking is holding some very dark family secrets of her own.

During a taping of "Live! with Kelly" that aired on Monday, Rooney Mara said that the film director, David Fincher, gave her a demanding list of things to learn and research in preparation for the film. Rooney also admitted that she received 5 piercings in one day (for the film), and eventually wants to get her nose pierced.
