Rowling’s New Book For Grownups Due In September

We'll find out September 27th if the author of possibly the most successful series of novels in history can tackle an adult audience. Rowling's publisher, Little, Brown & Co, announced the release date Thursday, along with a few details about the book. A Casual Vacancy is a dark comedy, set in a small English village with a sudden vacancy on its town council. The battle to fill the open seat turns into a war, with young challenging old, rich battling poor, and husbands facing off with their wives [and you thought that sort of thing only happened in American politics].

One question not answered in the released information: will Rowling feel obliged to include an almost-mandatory feature of modern novels - a gripping sex scene or two [or more; see 50 Shades Of Grey. But only if you're an adult]?
