Cleaning the inside of your house seems to be common sense for many people.

However, does cleaning the outdoors have the same effect? For many, it doesn't seem to have as high of importance as it should.

This time of year in my house you'll hear a lot of "Go outside! Go out and play." I encourage (yes, that's the right word) my children to go run and play and get some fresh air when the sun is shining. Heck, that's what I'll be doing too most days if I'm not in the studio taking your calls.

When you're outside enjoying the sun this spring and summer, don't forget to clean up. Be conscious of what you bring to a public place and make sure everything you packed in gets packed out so all of our parks and beaches and trails and lakes remain tidy and pleasant places to have fun with our loved ones.

In fact, for any of you volunteer seekers out there, plan a community beach or park cleanup party. Grab some friends, gloves and trash bags, and pick up trash in the park for an hour. Imagine the difference you could make with just five or ten people in that short amount of time. Then hang around and reward the crew with a picnic ice cream social. After all, what's a park cleanup without ice cream to back it up? Just sayin'...

Have a great week and don't forget to slow down, tune in, and allow me to smooth off the rough edges of your day.
