Stop Signs In Parking Lots Are Now Optional?

Seems to be the new trend.  

Occasionally you get the person that figures because a stop sign is not on a "road" and in a parking lot, they blow through it.

Maybe I'm in the wrong place, wrong time or maybe I'm in parking lots too much, but lately, every time I stop for groceries, go through a drive through ATM, whatever, someone else is blowing through a stop sign.

I'm not talking about a questionable stop either.  I'm talking about me coming to a complete stop, then a car pulling up, then them thinking it's ok to go through the stop sign.

Why do people think this is ok?
