Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, and what better way to kick it off then a little jog of 26.2 miles!

Memorial Day is one of the most traveled holidays in the U.S. People will travel an average of 690 miles this weekend (last year the average was 642 miles) and spend $659 over the course of the weekend, which is down 6 percent from last year, according to USA Today.

It's here, It's here !! I'm so excited I had to scream it twice. It's Memorial day weekend. This is the kick off to summer 2012. If you have been diligent and hanging on to the New Years resolution of dropping pounds, now is the time to let go.

The service men and women of our country make huge sacrifices to fight battles on our behalf and keep the freedoms we hold dear. One of those sacrifices is being away from their families and loved ones for long periods of time. The only thing that makes this sacrifice bearable for most is the incredible sweetness of coming home, even if it is only for a short leave.
