With any traumatic story, there's almost always a "you never think it'll happen to you" feel to it. Today, it happened to my family.

The numbers are daunting. 43 % of Americans have registered as organ donors. But less than 1% of deaths leave organs available for re-use. And in many cases, the people who make the decisions about organ donation may not be aware of their loved one's choice.

I came across the story, and thought it was pretty interesting...  Colorado legislators are considering a bill which would make organ donation mandatory.
