The Diverging Diamond Could Be The Traffic Pattern Of The Future [VIDEO]

Traffic seems to be as big of a problem here in WNY as it was where I used to live. Engineers have come up with a new traffic pattern called the Diverging Diamond that they say will help eliminate traffic issues at certain intersections by rerouting traffic like in the diagram above.

At first it looked VERY confusing, but after watching the video below, it made a lot more sense.

These aren't coming to WNY yet, but this could be the intersection of the future if the testing works out. They are already being used in Kansas City, and there are also plans to bring them to a couple of places in North Carolina.
