Thunderstorms and High Winds in the WNY Forecast

We'll start the week with warm temperatures, but HIGH WINDS and the risk of thunderstorms.

The system that spawned tornadoes across the nation’s midsection is expected to blow through WNY with wind and rain today.

The National Weather Service on Sunday issued a wind advisory for all of Western New York from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.

Winds of 20 to 30 mph are forecast, occasionally gusting to 50 mph. Scattered thunderstorms could accompany the high winds, forecasters said, as a strong cold front approaches. Temperatures could reach 80 today, then drop to the mid-40s tonight.
